Biography
'The Hopeful Chorus Line' is The Finishing School's second album. It takes you on a melodic, broody journey; one which is as beautiful as it is intense.

The Finishing School is a band from Adelaide, Australia featuring the talented sibling duo, Thom and Emily Combe. Thom and Emily originate from musical roots, introduced to the music industry early on by their father; renowned children's entertainer and songwriter, Peter Combe. They have performed throughout Australia with outstanding artists such as Evermore and the legendary James Reyne. They play regular gigs in some of Adelaide, Australia's best known live music venues.

Violinist and vocalist Emily Combe fronts the band alongside Thom. She brings to the band classically trained violin and jazz voice from the Adelaide Conservatorium of Music. Her vocals have been likened to artists such as Tori Amos and Katie Noonan and her violin playing is both edgy and soulful.

Thom Combe is a truly eclectic musician; playing several instruments including lead electric, acoustic guitar, trumpet and vocals. Thom trained in Jazz Trumpet at the Conservatorium.

Lyndon Gray, formerly of The Audreys, plays upright and electric bass. Lyndon graduated with honours from the Conservatorium and is a very well known player on the Australian music scene.

Andrew Gaborit completes the rhythm section, playing both kit and percussion. Originally hailing from Sydney, Andrew is a seasoned drummer who completes the sound of The Finishing School.

The Finishing School was recently selected to perform live on Australian TV Channel 7 2010 series 'My Restaurant Rules'. They were also awarded the prestigious 2006 LA Music Award 'Best Pop Song of the Year' Award.
