Biography
Ryan Morgan is an independent artist/worship leader based out of the Bay Area, California. He has a heart to create music that is fresh and new, yet adapts well to the mainstream market of Christian music. Ryan’s songs communicate the deeper truths of God in a simple, straight-forward style that is easy to grab on to. With pop-laden melodies, catchy guitar hooks, unmistakable harmonies, and heartfelt lyrics, many people walk away from Ryan’s events with a song stuck in their head, and a truth that touches the heart.

Having been a full-time worship leader and indie artist for 5 years, Ryan has just released his first full-length album titled “Come to Life”, and it has done just that. After garnering attention from many fans and critics alike, Artist Ovation took notice of Ryan’s debut album, which led to winning a main stage appearance at California’s biggest Christian music festival, Spirit West Coast. From here, Ryan has also received invitations to notable festivals as Joshua Fest, District Youth Camps, and main service invitations to many churches in California. Ryan and his band have shared the stage with many artists including, Big Daddy Weave, Matthew West, Jars of Clay, The Myriad, Building 429, Worth Dying For, Relient K, Kutless, Emery, Matt Kearney, The Afters, and Comedian Bob Smiley. Recently, Ryan and his band won the Indie Artist Showcase at Spirit West Coast 2008, and will be competing in a national competition in Nashville, TN. put on by Provident Music Group. He was also named TAXI’s July Artist of the month.

Ryan has sold nearly 2000 copies of his independent debut release and plays an average of 6-8 appearances a month with the average attendance of 400 people per performance.

The priority to be a resource to the local church is evident in Ryan’s music and ministry. Many of his songs have found their way into rotation among churches throughout California. As entertaining as Ryan and his band are, there is a definite worship focus to the music. “I believe that there is no greater use of ones skills, than bringing someone into an encounter with the Living God through the abilities that He has given you. We are beings who are created to worship our God.”

It’s Ryan’s desire to not only play great songs or worship sets, but to challenge people in their belief of who God is in their life. To ask the deeper questions of what surrender to God is, and how giving back of our lives in service to Him is what worship is all about. In a day and age where many people feel guilty for their past, or what’s been done to them in their past, Ryan brings a message of grace and mercy through his music. “One of the themes that is woven throughout this music, is the idea that the past is behind us. It’s only our own guilt and insecurities that hold us back. It’s all about living your life with passion, and letting God’s grace and forgiveness carry us through the past and move us forward to the life that God has meant for us to live.”
