Biography
Rusty Rierson is a native of South-central, KS. (Leon) Growing up on the family farm he fell in love with agriculture and pursued the degree at Kansas State in Agricultural Economics. Rusty graduated in 2008 and then completed a masters degree in Animal Science from K-State as well in summer 2011.

Rusty got into music when he was 14 years old. He started singing in church and soon it became a passion. He learned guitar when his father, Roger, suggested that they take lessons together. In 2005, Rierson won the state wide "YF&R talent find contest" hosted by farm bureau and performed at the Kansas State fair where he is annually invited back. In 2007 Rusty won the "Colgate Country Showdown" at the state level and placed in the top 15 nationally. He competed again at state in 2008, 2010, 2011.

Rusty has played all over the state of Kansas, in Missouri, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Texas, Tennessee, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Iowa, Nebraska, California, Colorado, Arkansas, and in Las Vegas. Rusty has also played in Mexico and Central America and will play in Anchorage, Alaska this summer. He often travels with the "Better Horses Radio Show" and has played rodeos, barrel races, and horse events all over the midwest, including at the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas in 2009. Rusty has opened for and shared the stage with legends such as Sawyer Brown, John Berry, Doug Stone, Michael Martin Murphy, 60's pop star Frankie Valens, R.W. Hampton, Bill Gentry, Justin McBride, and others. Rierson always plays tribute to Johnny Cash, George Strait, and some of his other heroes, as well as his own music. Rierson says he hopes people will see his music as as breath of fresh air. But thats for them to decide, he said.

Rusty has produced 4 albums and 1 DVD. There are now more than 33,000 copies of his albums in print. "Till the Fat Lady Sings" is a project he finished in Sept. 2008. There are a number of songs he wrote, and co-wrote on the project.

In 2009 Rusty released "Good Morning Glory," a patriotic single that also includes a song written for ledgenary bull rider Lane Frost, and a theme song for the OSU Cowboys.

Most recently, Rusty released his album "Souvenirs", a project recorded in Nashville with producer Richie Owens. Owens has produced albums for acts like Dolly Parton, Vince Gill, and the Georgia Satellites. Shortly after, Rierson released the video for the single "Souvenirs" through You Tube, CMT Pure, and on DVD. The DVD also includes an exclusive interview on location during the filming of the "Souvenirs" video. This project is on the label "Red Dirt Music Company" in Nashville. Rusty is currently managed by Ben Ewing who is also managing the Kentucky Headhunters, Johnny Solinger (of Skid Row), and Richie Owens and the Farm Bureau.
