ABOUT THE BAND :
The Kosice-based band, VESLARI (THE ROWERS), was formed in 1971, and is the oldest country band in Slovakia, EU. During this time more than 60 musicians have played with the group, contributing to the bands long development process. Over those years, the bands' music genre has also evolved: from folk music to bluegrass, until todays Modern Country style.
THE ROWERS perform every year at major music festivals both at home and abroad. They also are a regular and welcome attendant at country balls, rodeos and other similar events.
Since the beginning of 2004, the band is in a new arrangement, with the new, young talent, PETER DULA, as lead singer
Subsequently, they gained even greater notoriety, performed at many festivals both at home and abroad, amazing its audiences and organizers alike. In the summer of 2005 Veslari won the prize for the best band at one of the biggest country festivals in central Europe in Czech republic STODOLA MICHALA TUCNEHO and week later they competed at the biggest Country and Folk festival in Slovakia COUNTRY LODENICA and came in the first place.

PETER & THE ROWERS (VESLARI) are the top band playing modern country music in Eastern Europe and they prove it with their latest release "Ja Pojdem Sam" (I'm Leavin')
The song "BLIND HORSES" from this CD went to #3 on "Worldwide Most Played Country Artist Chart" for the month of July and also ranked #3 on prestigious ECMA (European Country Music Association) TOP 100 CHART in September, October and November 2006.
Since June 2006 is the band promoted by award winning promotion company RhonBob Promotions from Tennessee, USA.
Veslari started to perform and work under the international name
"PETER & THE ROWERS".
In the summer of 2006 Peter & The Rowers made an agreement with france booking agency Misssion Country. Through this agreement, Mission Country will take care of the Band for festivals and venues in France, Belgium and Switzerland.
PETER & THE ROWERS are right now back in the studio recording tracks for their upcoming album, which will contain of original songs only in English. The CD will feature songs by great songwriters as Roger Springer from Nashville (wrote hits for George Strait, Mark Chesnutt, Kenny Rogers...) Rhon Scheuerman from Tennessee who has had 39 #1 songs, Ronald Mattox from Ohio and there will be some original songs by Peter Dula.
A new single called " I'm Leavin' " is coming soon to country radios all over the world.
