Biography

Michael Kosterman began song writing as a teenager and by the age of 17 was performing live. He spent some time in the military where the writing continued, but there weren't many performances. Once a civilian again, Michael went back to performing in various bands and duos around his home province of British Columbia, Canada. He recorded some demos in a studio and they received some attention with a local record company, however nothing came from it. After a few years of slugging it out in the clubs and pubs of BC, Michael put his music aside.

Several years later and after a failed marriage, Michael eventually came back to his music. In 2004 he began to market his songs on the internet. Shorty afterward he was discovered by an outgoing and generous DJ in Queensland Australia. Aleta Tulk of 88.7 KIK FM was the first radio personality in the world to play a Michael Kosterman song. Encouraged by the response Michael kept on promoting and with the arrival of online music communities such as MySpace and now Facebook he has grown his following to a respectable level.

Recently Michael released a demo video of his tribute to the United States, titled America. The response to the song brought on the signing to In The Spotlight Records in Mt Juliet Tennessee. There are plans to record a radio quality version of America at The Tracking Room in Nashville. The producer to be Buddy Hyatt. The song once completed will be released to radio across the United States.

Michael will be based in Marietta Georgia for some time. Travelling back and forth to Nashville to record when necessary. The band will begin touring in the US sometime near the end of 2010. Dates to be announced.

With a new record deal, and a song that is making an impact, Michael is more ready than ever to make his presence known. The support and fan base continues to grow and the future looks bright for this unique Canadian singer songwriter.
