Harrisburg, PA born and a current Atlanta, GA resident, Jay L is by no means new to the entertainment scene. As a teenager he sharpened his skills by earning props from local talent shows, and city showcases. Jay L’s big break came when he won 1st place at the world famous “Apollo”. Jay L’s talent was evident with his first appearance at the world famous “Apollo” in 1994. That earned him a showcase with Grammy Award winning singer and songwriter Babyface. Jay L has also graced the stage with some of the best R&B and Rap artists in the industry, including Master P, David Banner, Public Announcement, City High and Case. Previously being signed under J-Pat Management allowed him to showcase for other great artists such as Usher. A huge favorite with the ladies, Jay L knows how to captivate his crowd and hold them in awe. This was evident at his two outstanding performances at the famous Apollo Theater in New York where he won over the tough Amateur Night audience with his melodic, sensual vocals. As his song, “She’s Wanting More” suggests, his performances always leave his audience wanting more. Jay L has other talents that complement his music. This multitalented artist has appeared in such movies as “Any Given Sunday” with Jamie Fox, Al Pacino, Dennis Quaid and LL Cool J; and “Random Hearts” with Harrison Ford. His video appearances include “Heartbreak Hotel” with legendary divas Whitney Houston, Kelly Price and Faith Evans. He has pursued his acting career by appearing in the play “Cousin Earl” with Charles Smith. Jay L has also performed on TV shows including: Word of Mouth and The Cutting Edge. His song “When I Rise”, along with a cover of “Catching of an Eye” is currently in Walden Books and Borders bookstores as a compliment to the book Catching of an Eye by Kimberly Gonzalez.

Jay L has performed in DC; New York, NY; Chicago, IL; Philadelphia, PA; Charlotte, NC; Miami, FL; Tampa, FL; Virginia; South Carolina and Atlanta, GA.

Jay L has the look and swagger of a rapper, but the voice of a singer that makes audiences wonder what he is going to do when he performs on stage.

His New Single “Riding on 24’s” and his B-side Single “By My Side” are currently receiving great responses on his 6-week DJ Campaign (5000 DJ’s are being serviced). He is doing Drops and Interviews. (93.7fm in Sydney, Australia has been on the record Heavy). Jay L’s forthcoming album is entitled The Wait is Over.

Jay L is known for his talent, but he may have an even better reputation for his hustle! Jay L believes in “10% sleep and 90% grind. When you are sleep, Jay L is up and when you are up, Jay L is still up!” Jay L is R&B Refreshment!
