Biography
Dynamic and stylish banjo player Gina Clowes joins the Mountain Home artist roster and plans her first solo release, True Colors. Distilled in the hot bed of pickers of central Virginia, Clowes performed with several regional outfits prior to taking a national role as the banjo player for Chris Jones and the Night Drivers. Last summer, she began work on her first solo recording that is now scheduled to be released on September 29th by the Mountain Home label which is stable to Chris Jones and the Night Drivers, Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver, Balsam Range, Lonesome River Band, the Grascals and many more.
The forthcoming release promises to be an eclectic one and features Gina along with friends and family including Marshal Wilborn, her sister Malia Furtado, Chris Luquette and many other top players.
"I am beyond thrilled to be joining forces with Mountain Home.” Gina says, “I have long been aware of their presence and the good they have done in the music community; not to mention, their artist roster is chock full of my heroes. To be signed with Mountain Home is a huge compliment, to say the least. I am very grateful for this opportunity!”
A&R Rep and Mountain Home Co-owner Mickey Gamble adds, "Although Gina is already part of the Mountain Home family through Chris Jones and the Night Drivers, we now welcome her as an artist of merit in her own right. We believe her innovative and unique musicianship and songwriting will make a significant contribution to the future of Bluegrass music. "
