Biography
Eliza's hypereducated parents started her musical journey in the classical realm. At age 10, she attended a dress rehearsal of a Metropolitan Opera production of Rigoletto. To her teacher's consternation, she hummed along with the famous arias.
Popular music entered the picture when she started guitar lessons at the Old Town School of Folk Music in 2006. Her classical background endowed her with a knack for arranging. Eliza enjoys toying with time signatures, as well as incorporating soprano vocal flourishes into her coffeehouse tunes. Her chest voice could be described as Sarah McLachlan with a dash of Splenda.
Eliza also has a light and flexible soprano classical tone, lending itself easily to Early Music, and the likes of Schubert and Mozart. She sings at St Vince de Paul Parish for services, and she can be booked for weddings.
