Biography
Matt Hannah is a Michigan-native and Minneapolis-based folk Americana singer-songwriter. His music has been heard on KCMP The Current (MPLS) and 100 other radio stations around the country, and he has performed throughout the midwest including at the Mid West Music Fest. His sophomore album Dreamland, released in February 2017, was called “not only original…but inspired” by Babysue and was noted by the Star Tribune and City Pages.
“The record shows traces of classic Son Volt and Ray Wylie Hubbard with a warm, troubles-to-the-wind writing style.” Star Tribune
“Between Hannah’s forlorn, saloon-weary voice and the long, lonesome peals of lap steel, the music has all the appeal of a prairie campfire or a black-and-white John Wayne film playing reel to reel…Hannah’s music takes the archaic and romantic notions of the country western and repackages them with his modern storyteller motif.” City Pages
“There is real beauty here, restrained and delicate at times, cinematic and proudly worn at others.” Dancing About Architecture
