Biography
Kate MacLeod has been compared to many influential artists of her genre including Emmylou Harris, Joni Mitchell, Nanci Griffith, Kate McGarrigle, Joan Baez, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Richard Thompson and Loreena McKennitt. Sing Out! Magazine says Kate MacLeod "channels the spirit of the great Carter Family classics." Encompassing the essence of these well-known musicians, Kate transcends fads and dates and over time engages an increasing listenership. "Blooming" was produced by Grammy-winning musician Tim O'Brien and features some of Nashville's greats including Darrel Scott, Byron House and Kenny Malone. From this recording, NPR featured the song "Something Left You Living" on it's syndicated song showcase "What's in a Song."
