Dedications:
This CD is dedicated to a man who was a great friend to all Cajun Artists and Musicians, Dave Solieau. I was blessed to have Dave in my life for over 30 years. He followed my career thru the highs and the lows, always encouraging me to follow my dreams and make my music. Dave always took my calls or returned them without fail, never asking me what I wanted but always saying, “What Can I do for you?” He set an example for all who knew him on how to be a great friend, husband, father, son and human being. He was proud of his heritage and made sure everyone knew he was a Cajun from South Louisiana. Dave’s memory will forever be a part of my music and of my life. On days when I feel discouraged with the trials and tribulations of life in the music business and I feel someone over my shoulder, whispering words of encouragement. I’ll know it’s Dave, forever a part of my music.
Throughout my music career there have been many who have been there to support me and my music. Over the last 20 years I have had to say goodbye to some dear people who I loved dearly. Among them friends and family but, I loved them all. You may be gone, but you will never be far from my heart and your memory lives in my music. My Mom – Eunice Sonnier 1987: My 1st wife – Jami Sonnier 1989; My Dad – Lemius (Boone) Sonnier 1992; A great songwriter and Friend, Danny May 1999; My Son – Larry 2000; My Mother and Father-in-law – Annie Mae Irby Glanden 2006 & Gene Glanden 2007; and my dear friend Dave Solieau 2007. Go rest high upon the mountain until I see you all once more. Special thanks to my wife Bobbye who is the driving force in our home and on the road. To our son Clayton and his girlfriend Stormi who I am so very proud of, thanks for taking such great care of our little dog Annie Mae while we are on the road. To my brothers and sister in law, David James, Johnnie, Royce, Shirley and their families, for all your love and support through the difficult last 18 months of losing both your Mom and Dad. My brother PJ has always been there for me and his family support me and my music with all their hearts. Where would we be without our friends? I have been blessed to have to have many wonderful friends in my life and I treasure each and every one of them. Lawrence and Carral Menard, Frank and Peggy Landry, Fred Legar, Tim and Michelle Herbert, Randy Williams, David and Linda Faulk, Joe and Lauren Wiggins, Gary & Janet McMahan and twins Brad and Tori.
My accordions are hand made by Junior Martin at Martin Accordions in Lafayette, LA; Rocky & Lisa Sonnier put us up in the great Cajun cabins at Bayou Boudin in Breaux Bridge, LA. When we need to get away; Deanna Welch feeds us at Crazy Bout Crawfish Cajun Café in Breaux Bridge, LA.; The Best Stop in Scott, LA. Keeps us stocked up with the best Boudin made in Louisiana; Samson Technology keeps me sounding so good with the wireless microphones; and Louisiana.
