Biography
2005 Will Rogers Award Nominee by the Academy of Western Artists for "Rising Star of the Year. "Internationally recognized as one of the die-hard "Stewards of the West", Jim Reader is a Cowboy folk singer/songwriter who has a focus on documenting and honoring the Old and New West. He writes about Cowboys, Ranching, and the inter-realtionships of the land and people, and stock. He is a Merle Travis throwback and is known for his unique finger picking style. His Debut CD, "THE BAR H" reached #10 on the Roots Music Charts in 2007. His second album is "1880's Cowboys" has just been released and several songs are included on this site. This Alberta rancher is the real deal, authentic cowboy/western music.. and acoustic all the way. Has opened for the likes of Kenny Rogers and BJ Thomas.
