I began singing at a very young age thanks to my mom, Sheila Newman, who gave me that opportunity. I was lucky to grow up in a house filled with great country music. Along with my mom and my two older siblings, we sang at local shows, throughout my childhood. In my early teens, I had the opportunity to be a guest on a popular county music show, that was broadcasted on National TV, here in Canada. I recorded in Toronto, Canada in the early 70s. This record was heard by one of Nashville's own, Shot Jackson, which brought an invitation to my sister, Bonnie and I , (We were known as the NEWMAN SISTERS), an appearance on the Grand Ole Opry in 1974. Being from a musical family, and being a true country fan, I believe in keeping the real country" songs alive. I have met a lot of great folks through music, some of who have become great friends.
