Biography

e-god’s music is multimedia, world-influenced, new-prog electronica.
Prog? Well, they don’t have any twenty-minute epics, but which other label fits
this unique music and live experience? It’s all done with a prog sensibility, in
that they are definitely pioneering new ground in their application of
sound, structure and technology - going out live with cutting edge
instruments, ‘virtual’ vocalists in perfect synch with the music,
among other spectacular video footage, and an intricate light show
controlled via Logic. All this is accomplished with no sound or
lighting engineer, and nobody even running the videos. They are a
totally self-contained unit, and their use of Roland V-Drums,
computers and samplers, as well as the regular guitar and bass, give
them a very wide musical palette to play with.

The band members’ influences are enormously varied, which adds to the
difficulty of categorising their music, and having been variously
compared to hundreds of bands, some of the less bizarre choices
including Ozric Tentacles, Tackhead, Pink Floyd, Peter Gabriel,
Massive Attack and Pendulum, it’s clear that their sound is pretty
much unclassifiable.

Dom and Phil met in the early 90’s and played hundreds of gigs with
the Liverpool/Manchester-based cult band ‘The Acrobats of Sa’ where
they started their explorations into creative uses of technology and
cutting edge instrumentation. The Acrobats recorded one album at
Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios, with Dave Bottril producing, and were
subsequently voted ‘Best Unsigned Band’ on the Steve Wright Show.
These explorations continued through Dom’s 2001 ‘Vudu’ project when
Drew came onto the scene, and have matured into what is now e-god.
Dom, Drew and Phil have, between them, played in many other musical
situations from funk, rock, jazz, blues, fusion, pop and prog, to
cover bands and even Indian classical music, so they are well equipped
to take their vast experience into the new millennium.

e-god is all about the live experience and using technology to create
mesmerising soundscapes and visuals while still retaining the
essential element of live group performance. You can be sure that you
haven’t seen such a show before; it’s incredibly spectacular, and the
sound will be of CD quality.
