Biography
It took a few years for Driven to materialize. Blake & Brandon met Jimmy Campbell in a jam session in Lawrence, KS in 2004. In 2007, Blake & Brandon were jamming on the final evening (Saturday) of the Walnut Valley Festival. They went by some friends’ camp and didn’t see much activity, other than a lone musician playing his guitar by the campfire. Blake and Brandon stepped in to eavesdrop behind him, and when they heard the music coming from the guitar they immediately asked him if he wanted to jam some bluegrass. That lone guitar player was Jake Workman.

In July 2009, Driven’s first official performance took place at the “Pickin’ On The Plains Bluegrass Festival” in Colby, KS. From there the group wanted to continue playing and booked any performances possible. Eventually, the continued performing would lead the band into recording their first studio album.

“Driven”, the band’s first official studio album began in March 2011. Prior to this time, Jimmy Vincent had to take a break from performing due to work and family commitments. The band still desired a fiddle on the album, so they decided to hire a studio musician named Shelby Eicher to track the fiddle. The project completed in June 2011 and was debuted at the Ogden Friends of Acoustic Music festival in Ogden, UT that same month. This festival would also be the debut of the group’s second fiddler, Rebekah Workman, Jake’s new wife of a few months.

Since that time, Driven has continued performing each year at numerous festivals. The band has had the opportunity to share the stage with such acts as Blue Highway, Ron Block, Sierra Hull, Claire Lynch Band, Darin & Brook Aldridge, Dailey & Vincent, Rhonda Vincent & The Rage, The Grascals, Kenny & Amanda Smith, Lonesome River Band, Mountain Heart, Dan Crary, Joe Mullins & The Radio Ramblers, The Quebe Sisters, Cody Shuler & Pine Mountain Railroad, Special Consensus, and the Kruger Brothers. They have also been privileged to perform at some premier festivals including the Walnut Valley Festival, Bluegrass & BBQ Festival at Silver Dollar City, and the Sally Mountain Show festival.

With the release of the band’s second album, “You’ll Be Lonely, I’ll Be Gone”, you can bet that this band has much more to come. The album consists of all original songs, written entirely by Driven.
