Biography
David Quiles was born on March 9, 1977 in Boynton Beach, Florida. His family migrated from Utuado, Puerto Rico to New York and settled in Boynton Beach in the late sixties.

David is no stranger to the music business having been involved in music for over 20 years. He is the brainchild of Christian rock band, City of David. He plays rhythm guitar, writes all of the band's songs, and is the lead vocal artist. He also can play keyboard, bass, lead guitar and drums which comes in handy on the occasions when a studio musician isn't available to record a particular track.

He has shared the stage with Jimmy Needham, Shaun Groves, Heather Williams, Third Day, FlyLeaf, the Newsboys and DecembeRadio to name just a few. Drawing rave reviews from fans and critics, his music delivers a high-energy sound in an atmosphere of funk, southern and classic rock.

His uncompromising spirit is heard in songs like "Mercy and Grace," which won the "Song of the Year" award with KCCM in 2008 and in his song, "Breakaway" which he won Alternative Rock Song of the Year with KCCM in 2010. David’s music challenges all of us to see how simple our lives can be when we allow the Lord to guide us, making a relationship with Him, a way of life . . . not a religion.

He released his self-titled and self-produced, debut album, City of David, in 2007, ministering to a sold out crowd as he opened for national recording artist, Jimmy Needham giving back to the community with over 100 free tickets to corporate sponsors, youth groups and non-profit organizations. His version of a Rich Mullin's tune, "Awesome God," reached number three on ReachFM's Christian Rock Countdown!

David waits on the Lord for the right timing, but is very excited about the possibility of getting back into the studio with a bunch of brand new songs with a much different flavor than the first album.

He has a 501c 3 non-profit ministry called World Shaker Ministry which is involved in local fund raising. [www.worldshakerministry.org]. World Shaker Ministry just co-produced an event recently for the American Cancer Society called "Battle for the Cure" at the YMCA in Palm Springs, FL. Battle for the Cure was a benefit musical showcase and 24 hour "Relay for the Cure" to honor all cancer survivors, raise awareness and also raise money for the American Cancer Society.
