Biography
One of the UK's leading singer/songwriters, Brian was born in Dumbarton, Scotland where he was raised in the shipbuilding tradition of his family. He showed little interest in music until 17 years of age where he found himself drawn to the guitar, and soon was playing with different bands cutting his teeth in the vibrant and demanding live scene in Glasgow. In 1984, disillusioned with the way music was heading, he joined the police service where he served as, among other things, a murder squad detective involved in serious crime including the Lockerbie tragedy. In 1999, a chance encounter with country star Mary Chapin Carpenter saw his love with music rekindled with his discovery of 'new country', and picking up his guitar again found himself writing in the country genre. The result was a debut album 'DAYS GONE DOWN' and the formation of a backing band 'The LoneSharks' to play festivals in the UK. Going from strength to strength, the following years saw another two releases 'WINDMILLS' and 'BACK TO WHERE I'M GOING' the latter winning the British Country Music 'Album of the Year'.

Brian and his band have played festivals throughout Europe and Scandanavia, whilst solo, he has played in the USA including Nashville, opening for the likes of Phil Vasser, Albert Lee and Carlene Carter.

In November 2011, his new release 'MY KIND OF PARADISE' won the 'Album of the Year' at the BCMAs in London. This latest release has been warmly received by music media throughout the UK and Europe, and he looks forward to getting it out to his American fans.

Mainstream music festivals in the UK will hear Brian and his new band for the first time in 2012 where his 'crossover' style has attracted the organisers.
