Biography
Following the release of his first CD (Desire,Strength & Ambitions), Bobby is releasing his second musical CD titled "2ND PHAZE" AND Single "AFTERNOON DRIVE" Bobby has been composing music since his early teens. Throughout his childhood his musical influence came from many areas. Coming from a family of music seems to be the reason music has been apart of his life. Bobby's father and siblings all grew up playing music in their parents church in Tyler and Fort Worth Texas. Bobby was born Robert D. Lee on January 2 1976 in Brownwood, a small city in the heart of Texas. At 16 Bobby brought his first keyboard and recorder and started composing his own style of instrumental jazz. At 18 he started playing the bass guitar at his church filling in for the main player who was no longer able due to illness but not knowing that this would be his main role. It was at this time, while visiting his Aunt in Killeen Texas, that Bobby meet a gentleman named Terry Smith who owned a recording studio and was also a composer of instrumental melodies. Through his correspondence with Mr. Smith, Bobby also put together his own studio that he named Power of Music Studio and started Power of Music Records. In late 1999 Bobby released his first CD Desire,Strength & Ambitions. The album was first featured by Sharon Jaye on KAZI(The Voice of Austin) in Austin Tx and The Phoenix Jazz network website along with several other online stations. The song Ocean Love was the first song featured. The album is still availible in many online downloading site (amazon, itunes, etc...)

Review from Sandy Shore President of SMOOTHJAZZ.COM

From the heart of Texas comes some very deep instrumental jazz from multi-instrumentalist, Bobby Lee. Just two hours northwest of the creative music scene in Austin, Brownwood is home to this talented musician who is celebrating the release of his new sophomore album 2ND PHAZE. His first, DESIRE, STRENGTH & AMBITION was released in late 1999 and featured by Sharon Jaye on KAZI (“The Voice of Austin”) and on The Phoenix Jazz Network as well as several other on-line radio stations. Bobby has been composing music since his teens and attributes his passion for the craft to growing up in a musical family and taking it all in at church. On 2nd PHAZE, Bobby plays bass, synth/keyboards, drums and all programming. This meaty collection offers up 15 tracks ranging from smooth jazz to “rural suburban” rhythms and “inner city” jams. It’s eclectic, involved and carefree… Bobby Lee says, "I love making music because it puts you in a variety of moods and good feelings and that's what each and every song on this project does!” We agree! 2nd Phaze was recorded at Lee’s own Power of Music Studios in Brownwood and released on his own label of the same name. Songs that stand out to our ears include the sweet and smooth, “Cherished Memories,” the delicate trance-like vibe of “Golden Summer,” the Lounge-bound, “Red Eye Flight,” and my favorite, the ‘up-in-your-grill,’ spicy “This Groove.” This is something from Texas that you’ll want to keep around way beyond 2008! ~SANDY SHORE
