Biography
Release date: 5/12/2015

Iconic songwriter and sideman shines on his own!

While Andrew Gold helped make smash hits for people like Linda Ronstadt, Art Garfunkel, Wynonna Judd, and many more, he also had more than a few of his own. The year after “Lonely Boy” hit the top 10, Gold toured for his follow-up album, All This And Heaven Too, which contained the now iconic “Thank You For Being A Friend.”

Previously unissued, The Late Show – Live 1978 is a document of those shows, recorded on the last date of the tour at West Hollywood’s Roxy Theatre, during the second set of the night!

The Late Show – Live 1978 presents Gold as frontman, showcasing the aforementioned hits, as well as classic album tracks. His Beatles influence shines on “Doctor Robert” and it all comes back to rock ’n’ roll with a cover of “Roll Over Beethoven.”

Packaging includes an essay from long-time band member and friend Brock Walsh (writer of “Automatic” by the Pointer Sisters and “Blessed” by Christina Aguilera), as well as unseen photos from the era.

It would be impossible to list all of Gold’s achievements in music, but The Late Show – Live 1978 shows that his time in front of the spotlight was not only well deserved, but as monumental as his work behind the scenes.

So, settle in for The Late Show – Live 1978. You’ll be glad you did.
