Biography
Afrologic was formed in 2002, by founding members, Temi and Gboyega Oyedele. The duo set out to create an incomparable sound through the fusion of native African instruments and electronics. Their style encompasses elements of tribal rhythm, funk, soul and dance, which are accompanied by smooth vocals and catchy melodies. Afrologic take it upon them to push the boundaries of conventional modern day music, never afraid to manipulate sounds and textures beyond what the average ear accepts. Thus, one track is never like the other, providing a truly unique experience.
Afrologic’s influences are wide and varied. Temi draws influence from Sarah Vaughn, Susana Baca and Virginia Rodriguez, while Gboyega cites Roy Ayers, P-Funk, Brass Construction, Leroy Burgess and Jazzy B as major inspirations.
Afrologic are currently in the studio recording their new album that will no doubt exceed all expectations and deliver the remarkable sound that their fans have come to expect. Accompanying the release is a tour, which will showcase the group’s energetic stage show, one which is sure to stay firmly planted in your mind for years to come. Definitely an act that will continue to impress.
