Biography
Famous Sicilian Sax Player, composer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, Salvo Guttillas passion for music has no limits. Salvo has been intent on a career in music since he was a one-year-old toddler, and has been performing publicly since the age of five. This musical journey has been characterized by the search for originality and creativity.
From folk to pop, rock, jazz, fusion, smooth jazz and classical, he stands out for his ability to awaken the audiences feelings. He has performed internationally for as many as 100,000 people and has appeared numerous times on TV. He is known for his powerful stage presence.
The continuous search for simplicity and introspection is representative of his personality, and gives shape to Anyway, a CD considered the first Italian Smooth Jazz production. This was followed by Inside, his second CD, dedicated to his fans and loved ones. In 2001, following 9/11, Salvo engaged on a series of charity concerts called Sette Note Per La Pace (Seven Notes For Peace). With a unique ensemble: soprano sax, string quartet and piano, and in collaboration with UNICEF and other organizations, he began touring churches and cathedrals experiencing a new musical direction.
His appearances in the United States at the Manhattan Center, Atlantic City, Foxwood, Turning Stone, and Niagara Falls attracted him to New York. Salvo continues to perform live in concerts and shows, including the popular Stelle Magiche (Magic Stars), his Christmas special.
