Biography

Started as recording project by Chris Lyon to record some of his songs at the Bathouse studio, Owl Farm has evolved into a well-oiled live act made up of some of Kingston, Ontario’s most skilled and innovative musicians. With cleverly written songs spanning from punk to classic pop, dark psych to garage, Owl Farm are confident in the strength of both their 7 song e.p. released in summer of 2008, and recorded at The Tragically Hip’s Bathouse Studio, and their recently released 9 song album,’Don’t Stop’ recorded in Kingston by Chris “Skid” Scahill. The response to their new recording has been excellent with particular attention being paid to the track ‘Seven Hounds’.
Known for their intense live performances appreciated by a wide range of music fans, Owl Farm have played to transfixed audiences in Kingston, Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa, with plans to continue playing across Eastern Canada in order to expand their fan base. This ambitious band has done extensive mail outs of their first c.d. resulting with the band charting on university radio across Canada, and receiving glowing reviews:

“ The songs are very easy to like, and they’re memorable . . . I get a ‘playing what we want to play’ vibe from Owl Farm, but if that’s the case what they want to play is interesting and good”.
- Adam Morrison- 102.1 The Edge Toronto.

“Their self titled debut e.p. ‘ Owl Farm’ is a creative musical venture you will want to check out for yourself . . . Energy is expended, crazy chord progressions are played, mad ideas presented and in the end a good time is had by all”.
- wildysworld.com- New York.
