Biography

Nokie started playing at age 5 country music. At age 12 he could play all string instruments. Started playing all style's of music from country, Rock-n-Roll, Classical, Blues, Gospel & Jazz.

In 1959 Nokie was playing with Buck Owens when The Ventures (Don Wilson & Bob Bogle) ask Nokie to join them. They had their first hit song in 1960 with Walk Don't Run. With many more hit songs to fallow like Hawwii 5-0 ect.

Nokie left The Ventures in 1986 to pursue his career in playing all styles of music again. Still performing with The Ventures when Nokie is needed. He has wrote many hit songs, Surf Rider (as in movie Pulp Fiction) Ginza Light, Hokkaido Skys, just to name a few. Go to www.nokieedwards.com to view more.

Played guitar for great legends as Lefty Frizzell, Buck Owens, David Frizzell & Shelly West, Frelin Husky and many more. Also pursuing his own tours in the USA, Japan and around the world. Has been nominated five times for the Grammy Awards and inducted into the Music Grammy Hall of Fame in 2006 for (1960's Walk Don't Run).

The fans in Japan dub Nokie King of Guitars back in 1965. I don't know about you, but I think he's still got it. Now at 72 doing what he enjoys most, writing, playing and most of all passing his licks on.
