Biography
Nell Robinson & The Rose of No-Man's Land
An American Family’s Musical Journey Through 250 Years of War & Service

Featuring Nell Robinson, Kris Kristoffersen, John Doe, and Ramblin' Jack Elliot

This uniquely crafted concert and PBS series showcases Nell Robinson’s lush vocal quality and artisan story-telling. “The sheer nakedness of the presentation is reminiscent of Dolly Parton, the songwriting where everyday occurrences are presented as the stuff of awe, and emotional heft.” (Bluegrass Unlimited)

The Rose of No-Man’s Land is the title of Nell’s new CD project produced by Grammy Award-winning producer Joe Henry (Bonnie Raitt, Aaron Neville), with music from the Revolutionary War to the present, interwoven with 250 years of letters, stories and poetry from Nell’s rural Alabama family. The CD features guest artists Kris Kristofferson, Ramblin’ Jack Elliott, John Doe, Kathy Baker and Maxine Hong Kingston.

Onstage, Nell features musical, theater and literary icons including two time Grammy winner Ramblin’ Jack Elliott, Emmy Award winning actress Kathy Baker, and celebrated author Joyce Maynard.

The show has been performed to standing ovations at The Kennedy Centre, and Berkeley’s Freight & Salvage, where the project first originated 6 years ago, among others.

National CD Release Tour throughout October & November.
