BIO

December 2004, a few years after Lexx flew to UK powered by
“Old School of Rock’n’Roll”
and a desire to live on the edge of a British Society to achieve his goals, being surrounded by local rock bands playing all together with confidence of greatest songwriters who might drug the whole Rock History of Britain into a different level, was the year when the band called MISS MISERY appeared in West London with a hunger to build their future, creating music which was a mixture of the good old traditions of Hard Rock and Metal driven into the modern sounding machine of 2004 Music Market.

Initially there were three people in the band: Lexx Speeded- guitar, vocals; NIG- (aka Nigel Mowles)-bass, MirunGEE- (aka Greg Mirunkiewicz)- drums. After about a year they split then came back together few months later to realize that the magic was not there and the circumstance of different life perspectives sooner or later would kill any inspiration. NIG left the band in Spring 2007 and was replaced by Mad-Mad. She brought solid heaviness and power into MISS MISERY's sound.

The first album with “Speededdog” title came out January 2005, written and produced by Lexx and recorded at Pro 2 Studio Belarus, then officially released through Astral Records Australia and Blue Pie Distribution Worldwide in May 2007 followed by "Silicon Angel" multi single and "Dead Famous" compilation CD releases also through Astral Records where "Silicon Angel" song was the opening track. From this moment MISS MISERY's music spreads all over the world digitally and physically.

"Speededdog" album gets 3.5 out of 5 grade review by Metal Hammer Poland May 2008.

MISS MISERY

Speededdog

3.5 out of 5 points

I have just received another package from the country, which within last few years became an El-Dorado for a lot of Polish people i.e. Great Britain.

In another words a place of Exodus.

In the case of MISS MISERY, the Polish connection materialised itself in a person called Mirun.
Nota bene he has been living over there for some 20 years and he’s appeared in a very interesting music project.

MISS MISERY is strictly saying a rock’n’roll band but with a mixture of melodic metal and even a delicate gothic horror metal influences.

From the beginning of the album, the whole thing seems like just a starter for the main course.

The album was released in year 2005 and brings us 44 minutes of well balanced, touching different styles of rock and well arranged music.

What is even more interesting; the album was mastered in Belarus?
Oh! And we have here a very international band.

We may not be talking about something completely new as such, about some kind of rock comet and new type of sound or genre, however after listening to those tracks and leaving beside the whole great professionalism of the musicians, we realise that there’s a lot happening.

The leader of the band, very charismatic Lexx is responsible for composition, all the vocals and guitars.

He manages to seamlessly connect the dark sounds of the band with that rocky, chirpy vocal of his.

Longer I was listening to these songs and then more often my thoughts were going towards Glenn Danzig, with whom I was comparing Lexx’s vocals and way of playing.
That is at least the way that MM is playing on their first disc.

We may not have to wait too long for another blast from those guys, as together with Speededdog album, I have received a sample of the new track for the second album and I must say that although they are continuing their search for that perfect sound, they definitely are on the right track as the new sound and ideas are even better, stronger and they remain me a bit of The Mission.

But where they are going the future will show!

The“Speededdog” album is like a knockout punch from Tyson without a boxing glove. It creates awesome energy that explodes across your skull with great thumping rhythm. A clever mix of lyrical pain and frantic fretwork, which drives the music from nightmare to waking. It pulses into painful joy. Here the throbbing pulsation of life going downhill and the powerful introspective in strong positive thrusts.
