Biography
Singer/songwriter veteran, Mac McAnally, is also a producer, session player, publisher, band member, studio owner, comic, story teller, and so on, a basic modern day William Faulkner living in the music industry.

He has recorded 10 studio albums all on major record labels, and has written multiple #1 records for the Country Music charts as well as others that roamed the top 40 Pop charts. Over 30 national recording artists have recorded songs written by Mac. He has produced records for Little Feat, Sawyer Brown, Jimmy Buffett, Ricky Skaggs, and more. Mac was the first artist ever to be signed by David Geffen for Geffen Records; the next couple of artists Geffen signed were John Lennon and Elton John.

Artists such as Roy Orbison, Hank Williams Jr., Amy Grant, Travis Tritt, Linda Rondstadt, Nanci Griffith, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Reba McEntire, Dolly Parton, Alabama, Patty Loveless, etc., have hired Mac for his guitar playing or vocal harmonies.

As a member of Jimmy Buffett's Coral Reefer Band, Mac has written a number of songs with Buffett, including two songs from Jimmy's upcoming record: Coast of Carolina and the title track, License to Chill. Jimmy also recorded Mac's song, Its My Job which appears on Buffett's '81 release, Coconut Telegraph.

This year Mac has re-mastered 3 of his best releases which are: Nothing But The Truth, Simple Life, and Live & Learn. These albums contain songs influenced by rock, jazz, country, and gospel featuring Nashvilles A-session players. All songs were written or co-written by McAnally and each contains hits either recorded by Mac or by others. For example, Mac had a top 10 pop hit in the 80s with Minimum Love, Country group Sawyer Brown took All These Years to #1 in the 90s and today Kenny Chesney features Back Where I Come From on his Greatest Hits CD. Garth Brooks, Jimmy Buffett, Ricky Skaggs, George Strait, and many others have also recorded songs off these 3 releases.

Born in Belmont, Mississippi, Mac's songs speak the truth and revolve around stories of the South as well as realities of the world. Each song has a story behind it, and at his own shows, Mac draws in the crowd mixing humor with truth. His shows are roughly 40% storytelling and 60% music...Southern culture at its finest.

Mac is currently writing and producing multiple projects such as Little Feats as well as performing dates with Jimmy Buffett and his Coral Reefer Band.
