Biography

Lil' Mo and the Dynaflos
Rockin' '50 - Early '60's style classic and original DooWop, Rhythm & Blues.
Lil' Mo and the Dynaflos came about one night around 2004 at the World Famous Derby Club in Los Angeles as "Lil' Mo" Morris Everett and Cliff Quan discussed their love for DooWop music. Lil' Mo, being a veteran of previous vocal groups and Cliff, being an avid DooWop listener and rockabilly guitar player in the LA band “The Hellzaboppers”, decided "Why not give it a go ourselves"? The rest is history!
The original group consisted of 5 vocalists and 4 musicians, whom Cliff recruited from the creme of the crop of L.A.'s Rockabilly and '50's Rhythm and Blues scene. Unlike other vocal groups, Cliff's idea was to make the band an integral part of the group (instead of a vocal group with a back up band). This idea was to form the structure and sound of "The Dynaflos". The current line-up consists of 4 vocalists and 4 musicians.
The Dynaflo's set consists of some obscure 50's-60's DooWop, some standards and a growing list of original tunes. Something for everyone! They blend their style of 50's, 60's, DooWop and R&B, with an upbeat, rockin' band. Combine that with a high energy stage show and you'll find one undeniably fun, hard working, DooWop Rock n’ Roll group that is hard to ignore. They are becoming high in demand at car shows (Viva Las Vegas Car Show, John Force Holiday Car Show, Grand National Roadster Show, Sacramento Autorama, The National Collector Car Appreciation Day Car Show, OCCA Labor Day Cruise), swing dances, parties, clubs, weddings, etc... and have played five very successful shows overseas, in Spain (The Screamin’ Festival) twice in England (The Rhythm Riot), in France (Bethune Retro Festival) and in Italy (Sh-Boom DooWop Festival). The City of Bethune were so happy with their performance, they have been invited again to play Bethune Festival 2016. They have played in some capacity, at 9 out of the last 11 Viva Las Vegas Weekenders and have performed as the backing band to acclaimed UK vocalist Si Cranstoun, original ‘50’s DooWop artists Norman Fox (“Tell Me Why”, “Dream Girl”, “Pizza Pie”), Cleftones singer Herbie Cox ("Heart and Soul", Little Girl of Mine", "Can't We Be Sweethearts"), The Jive Five's Eugene Pitt ("My True Story", "Tick Tock", "Happy Man"), Bobby Lewis ("Tossin' and Turnin", "One Track Mind") and The Drifter's Bobby Hendricks. They played again at Viva Las Vegas in 2016 headlining the main stage. They performed at the 2nd Annual Rhythm Collision Weekender in January 2015 and again in January 2017. In Dec. of 2016 they performed for the first time to a very enthusiastic crowd at the Jump N' Jive Festival in Mexico City, Mexico. They were only 1 of 12 bands selected by the head of Viva Las Vegas Weekender, Tom Ingram, to record their version of "Viva Las Vegas" for a free CD giveaway celebrating Viva Las Vegas' 20th Anniversary. Their original music has been used in movies such as Lionsgate Film's "The Winning Season" and highly acclaimed independent film "The Deuce of Spades".
They were signed to German record label “Rhythm Bomb Records” in 2013. Their discography includes 6 CD’s (Lil’ Mo and the Dynaflos, In 2nd Gear, 3rd Time’s a Charm, Original Hits Vol. 1, Street Corner Sessions, Get Up and Dance) as well as numerous compilations and one “Greatest Hits” 12" vinyl LP. If you get a chance, grab their CD's or catch one of our live shows, as Lil' Mo and the Dynaflos carry on the tradition of the street corner crooners.
