Carolina Dust was written by Brink Brinkman, and won the songwriting competition at Merle Fest! We're happy to have this one.
Before You Leave Here was a collaboration between Canadian Matt Naveau, Steve Harris and David Morris. It's the burner on the album.
Once Upon a Time, the title cut, was written by Steve Harris and Malia Furtado, and features Malia's vocal. It facetiously blames time for relationships not working out.
Angeline the Baker is a song that has been around forever, and is typically played as an instrumental. We've cut it as a vocal tune featuring Ashley. Matt clawhammers the banjo on this tune.
Cold Frosty Morning is the instrumental on the album. This is another old tune that's been around forever, and we've added our feel to it. It features Matt, Malia and Garrett.
I Sing Your Song was a collaboration between Steve Harris, Dawn Kenney and David Morris. The song is about losing a loved one, and the angst preceding the inevitable end. David and Dawn are Merle Fest Songwriting Champions as well!
Tripped Stumbled and Fell is a happy swing tune written by Dawn Kenney and Richard Lang.
Queen of Hearts is a Hank DeVito tune, but was brought to the forefront years ago by Juice Newton. This song is a lot of fun for us!
Rain and Snow is an old old tune that predates bluegrass music. This version is our take of the lyrics and what they represent to us. We also cut and released a video for this tune.
Whispers of the North is a Gordon Lightfoot tune that describes taking an airplane ride over Canada.
