THE HELLO STRANGERS RELEASE THEIR MUCH ANTICIPATED DEBUT ALBUM GLOBALLY VIA AIRPLAY DIRECT

Posted on July 9, 2014

Nashville, TN – (July 8, 2014)The Hello Strangers have released their first full-length, self-titled album with multi-award winning (Grammy, Emmy, Dove, Tele) IMI Records in Nashville, Tennessee. The album features 11 originals and 2 covers, including “What You Don’t Know,” written by, and featuring on vocals, Jim Lauderdale; and “Que Sera, Sera,” an homage to their grandfather, Ronald Chace, who sang with Doris Day.

What does Austin-influenced, rural-Pennsylvanian, indie sister-folk sound like? Verbosity aside, it sounds uniquely like The Hello Strangers, a sister duo, comprised of Larissa Chace Smith and Brechyn Chace, whose haunting harmonies and original, wittingly noir songwriting style are the backbone of their sound.

“You’ll be hearing a lot about our new album over the coming weeks and months, but first we want to send a much-deserved thanks to the people who made this all happen for us: AirPlay Direct.  This wonderful team of people put together an awesome contest in 2012 called “Win An Americana Record Deal.” We were lucky enough to win the contest, and were thus given the opportunity of a lifetime.  We are very grateful to AirPlay Direct, our record label IMI Records and our Producer Steve Ivey for making our hard work pay off, and our dreams come true.”  The Hello Strangers

“We have been very proud and excited to watch The Hello Strangers develop, grow and blossom within the AirPlay Direct eco-system.  These young ladies have worked very hard to create their own style and sound.  They have professionally engaged and have obviously taken full advantage of what AirPlay Direct offers independent artists globally.  They serve as a fine example of what can be accomplished if you are professional, work hard and are totally committed to your craft.”  Robert Weingartz, Chairman & Creator – AirPlay Direct

“The first time I heard a demo of The Hello Strangers I knew they had something special.  The songs they wrote and the vocal harmonies got my attention immediately.  We began the process of recording an album together and from day one our vision was singular, to make a stellar recording of this unique duo.  We accomplished that goal and beyond with this first album release.”  Steve Ivey, The Hello Strangers – Producer / IMI Records
