Biography
Born and raised in Kentwood, Louisiana, Russell began singing at the age
of ten in a Pentecostal church. As Russell grew through adolescence, he
continued to build on his innate desire to perform. He would sing along with
such legends as Conway Twitty, Hank Williams, and even Elvis, “The King
of Rock-n-Roll”.

Russell joined the Navy in 1985, where he worked hard not only continuing
to develop his music, but his character as well. He served his country as
one of America’s elite in Special Warfare Group One at Special Boat Unit
XI in the Persian Gulf.

After completing his tour of duty, Russell returned to his native Louisiana,
where he began playing local bars and honky-tonks. Since that time,
Russell has grown to become one of the most prominent acts in this area,
and has shared the stage with Tracey Lawrence, Matt King, Chris LaDoux,
Joe Diffie, Mark Wills, T. Graham Brown, Confederate Railroad, Jimmy Van
Zandt, Merle Haggard, Andy Griggs, Artimus Pyle (of Lynyrd Skynyrd), Dan
Seal, Wayne Toups, River Road, Neal McCoy, Little River Band, Richocette
and Travis Tritt.

In addition to developing into an outstanding performer, Russell has
become one the most successful merchandising acts in the area. He has
sold several thousand CD’s, tee-shirts, hats, and many other novelty items.

In 1997, Russell released the album “Russell Walker and Bandera”. A few
years later, he released “Top of Rock Bottom” produced by Capitol Records
own “Steve Grisaffe” of River Road Band. This album turned out to be a
great success selling thousands of copies.

Russell teamed up with songwriter and producer in 2004, Tom Paden, for
an album project. Many have praised the album, “It’s a Good Thing”,
completely recorded in Nashville as a smash!

In 2006 Russell signed a recording contract with Aspirion Records Group in
Nashville and recorded a new CD titled "Russell Walker" with Tom Paden
producing this CD.

Russell looks to each day as an opportunity to continue mastering his craft
and living out his ambitions of becoming a true “Music Man
