Biography
Taylor Martin creates songs you will remember. Exceptional melodies paired with clever verse, delivered with style and a storied voice. Strongly rhythmic on guitar, upbeat at times, tender and lulling at others, Taylor is a standout musician from intimate listening rooms to packed venues.
From his childhood roots in Richmond Virginia, through his time seeking the soul of his music in the canyons of Utah, to his present day home in the musically rich Asheville, N.C
scene ,Taylor blends influences from country, rock, and soul. When performing he quickly warms a room, whether it be interacting with the audience during solo performances or fueling passion and improvisation within his full band.
Earning an enthusiastic reception at many popular festivals in our region and farther, Taylor has showcased at the Sundance film festival, Utah for 7 years running, and the European Independent Film Festival in Paris, France. Closer to home he has played Suwanee Spring Reunion, Folk Alliance International, and many of the regions sought after venues. And from stage to studio his sincere creativity shines through.
Now three studio albums in, Taylor was proud to release Song Dogs in November of 2018, on Little King Records. On it he spins tales of the highway and home, love lost and regained, and the overuse of cell phones. With Amanda Anne Platt (Honeycutters) taking lead as Producer, the help of Robert George (co-producer and engineer), and Martin’s own vision ,the album was recorded at Sound Temple Studios, Asheville, N.C.
Taylor continues write new material, and to perform in support of Song Dogs, as well as his previous two releases, Engine and Heartache or Bust. He is available for booking as a solo act or with his full band, and is open to interviews and other media opportunities.

“Taylor Martin is a singer-songwriter who will remind you of everything good from Tom Waits to the Everly Brothers or the Avett Brothers with some surf rock thrown in. Well-sung, well-played,
well-written and relevant...” says Asheville Citizen-Times.

" Taylor Martin somehow manages to sound weathered and fresh at the same time, and I never feel like he’s pushing the same old tired Americana tropes around."
—David Gans

“Taylor Martin is a killer songwriter. He’s got a great sense of melody and an ability to write classic, accessible songs about things we all take for granted. It’s also to his credit that he hits all sides of the spectrum-- there are toe tappers and tear jerkers on this album and everything in between. I’m a big fan of the saying, ’Great songs produce themselves, I certainly found that to be true in working with Taylor.”
- Amanda Anne Platt (The Honeycutters)

"Taylor Martin will make his mark in the Americana world" -Rev. Jeff Mosier
