Biography
2013

“Long Tall Deb is a powerful singer who was raised in the dirt of Texas Blues.”
– Art Tipaldi, Blues Revue Magazine

Long Tall Deb Landolt delivers a solid dose of her patented brand of “Soul/ Gospel/ Swamp” with her debut solo release, Raise Your Hands.

The songs evolved from a series of impromptu writing sessions, affectionately referred to as the Wednesday Night Music Club, that began in the fall of 2011 in Columbus, Ohio. Transplanted Texan Deb Landolt would gather with keyboardist John Popovich and bassist Melvin Powe to work on new song ideas and jam on themes and variations. Often in between his international tour dates, local guitarist Sean Carney would join the fun.

The resulting album features striking arrangements on ten of their collaborative efforts, further refined by the talents of Nashville Producer Dave Clo. Two tasty covers, Tom Waits’ “New Coat of Paint” and Ian Moore’s “Muddy Jesus” round out the disc. To complement the deep textures of the music, it made sense to build an outstanding ensemble cast to deliver the goods. Landolt and Executive Producer Mark Puskarich enlisted the help of veteran Blues artists Jimmy Thackery and Reese Wynans (organist with Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble), Colin John and members of the Grammy-winning Roomful of Blues as well as rising stars Carney, Damon Fowler, JP Soars, Shaun Booker, Bart Walker, Victor Wainwright, and Sirius/XM Bluesville’s Big Llou.

Raise Your Hands is a tour-de-force for Long Tall Deb, and a joyous celebration of the arrival of an artist on the rise.
